If you are up early enough in Melbourne you can sometimes see hot air balloons sailing overhead. I usually see them if I'm in the mood for a morning run. No matter what state of mind you're in, the balloons never fail to be, literally uplifting or even a little magical.
So recently when I was commissioned to create paintings for the nursery of a pair of twin baby girls, I knew exactly what to imagine. The balloon in these drawings doesn't simply glide over Melbourne, it takes off all over the place, here is a peek.
